When speed conflicts with care, authority with dissent, autonomy with belonging, or competition with cooperation, the instinct is to choose a winner. The decision may create immediate clarity, but it can also remove information, capability and the means of correction.

A legitimate field must remain answerable to reality and preserve reciprocal agency, dignity, consequential voice and the possibility of exit.
